I have a number of Te Vaka songs in my various tiki playlists. I don't see them mentioned much on TC, but if you like them or don't know them and you're in the area, it's free, so what the heck (and I can't remember them coming through Chicago before, either).
Here's a link to the event, which will be at the Old Town School of Folk Music.

If anybody wants me to throw a little playlist up someplace, PM me. Or you can just go to their website and listen to track snippets (or Amazon, I'm sure). http://www.tevaka.com/music.html
They do a lot of percussive / luau type stuff, but they also do their "contemporary Pacific" music, and that's mostly what I like of theirs.
I have no affiliation with them or OTSFM, I just dig the band

Te Vaka is fantastic, and I'm envious of the folks in Chicago getting a chance to see them live. They look like they'd be amazing, with all that dancing and energy. They've been favorites of mine for years now, and a great contemporary Pacific band. They always get played at my tiki (and beyond) parties.

Just got back from the show and holy cow they were out of this world! Just a fantastic show all-around. If you're anywhere near any of their tour locations, it's a great time!
