Hi everyone,
new to this site and just thought I would say G'day to you all from here in Australia!
I have just got a renewed love of anything tiki with my first tiki mug arriving the other day, hopefully it will be a long love affair.
I have include a couple of pics I have airbrushed on canvas of my boys, they watch over me when I'm home.
I hope I haven't offended anyone with the moko designs, pleas tell me if I have. I painted them from my head not trying to copy any particular style.
cheers guys, enjoy!

Welcome to Tiki Central BadAss. That's a nice looking pair, I could see them mounted as guardians on either side of a door to keep people with bad mana out of the Tiki Bar How big are they?

They are 10 x 48 inches, and they hang in my lounge until I get my bar

very nice badass.
mate, i'm interested where-abouts on the whitsundays?
i only ask 'cause one time i took a wander up over the
radio hill north of shute harbour and found this wicked grass
shack in a secluded little cove on the other side, didn't
have a camera at the time, but it was just beautiful.
i collected some coral on the beach from there and recently
used some to make a little reef diorama for my lounge.
have ya been over there? keen to know if the shack is still
there. hope i'm not derailin' your thread too much.

Hi Komohana, I am in Airlie Beach, I have a workshop at Cannonvale.
I know the beach you are talking about, you can climb over mount roper to get there. I dont recall seeing a shack last time I was there but parks and wildlife had built a loo there so maybe they pulled it down.

my first attempt at carving a tiki, he's carved out of white cedar and he is approx 33 inches
He is carved with a variety of flat chisels and finished off with the sanding disc on my dremel.
I still have to burn the tattoos in and stain him when I get some more cash.
