TV's food was always overpriced and bad but the drinks were good we would grab drinks there then go somewhere else to eat after a couple drinks when the one in AZ was around so it is a known problem to have bad food at tiki places
if one can actually get it right and do both it would do well, and be able to stay open
without both you will fail, if you can't do food right, don't do it at all like tiki ti

Sorry to hear you didn't like the food at T.V. in Arizona. I eat at T.V. Emeryville and T.V. Palo Alto a few times a month and both the food and drinks are great! Guess that's why they are still open after all these years. T.V. was known for their cusine for decades.

When it first opened, the TV Chicago had great food. Unfortunately the management really let everything about that location slide (well documented in other threads) and it went under. It was great while it lasted.
