My vote: Not only does this rum taste good:
...but it will make a nice addition to your head rack:
..or look good as a trophy hanging on your porch:

The Deadhead Rum Rhum Club (2/24/13) gathering was a nice change of pace. Not that there is anything wrong with drinking 12 shots in a row of different types of pure rum, per se, but having a nice shot to sip and then sampling a couple of cocktails made from the same great rum was fun too! Forrest put on another stellar presentation in which he explained the history of the rum and sang its praises as he savored it with us. Here are some photos I snapped between sips of pure Deadhead rum, some wild banana concoction and Marie King's taste tempting cocktail made from Deadhead rum, tamarind, pepper and orange flavors.

The consensus re Deadhead rum is that it is a great sipping spirit that makes for a rather tasty cocktail. There was general agreement that, unlike with some spirits, the rum inside was just as exciting as the the bottle it comes in. I think it tastes a bit like some spiced rums, but without all the sugar if that makes any sense.

Hi Jeff,
All we tried was the gold. I'm not sure, but that might be all that there is. I did a google search and didn't find a Deadhead dark. The amber is a great sipper!

So I guess it's a lower shelf mixing rum.
Who cares when you have a bottle this cool? I must have one! I wonder if they'll be available in Canada?
If anyone is note rested in doing a swap, PM me!

The Deadhead Rum website has a where you can purchase it button or you can buy it online from Zee Tequila. I don't know if they have a Canada shipping option.

Here's a photo that has a completely different sculpt in the middle, maybe it was just a prototype.
Well, from what I can tell Hi-Time only sells the "DEADHEAD 6YR RUM 750" (at least on their website), so that's why we might have only had the chance to sample that flavor. Hopefully we can try the others at a future RRC meeting.
The Rum...
Their Cocktail...
Marie/Tonga Hut's cocktail...
Big 'n' little...
The RRC group shot...
