The hanging mug shelves were taken down torched burned and coats of clear applied. Mug shelves 3 pcs. 2"x12"x8' rehung and a couple hundred mugs put back up on them. For overhead hanging shelves use hoist/lifting chain at least grade 80. Upcoming project: debark logs for pier/dock bar. Ten pilings to become the supports for the bartop ( 4pcs. 4"x8"x12' )

Working on some wall placement...Swapmeet find without backboard/frame..Still She stands alone just fine

It was great hanging out with u at the Bali-Hai and other spots in San Diego.
After hearing all about the bar construction I think the world is ready for more photos.

Hope to see you again soon

Jon

Thanks to all for positive feedback on the Tapahut. It's been fun building and collecting. It's also been fun meeting and talking to people who share the Tiki interest. The Tapahut still has some way to go before its all the way up and running. Plans are for three more tall bar tables with two or three stools to each table. Tables to be made like the bar...4x8's bolted together sat atop of three piling a with wrapped rope. A bar glass free standing case. But the next step is to address the floor. It had wood parquet on half and the rest carpet on top of concrete. So now it's filling the holes from the carpet tacks and scrapping the adhesive from the tiles. In the end a stain or paint swirled will go down for ease of cleaning. I was toying with the idea of bringing in a couple of tons of sand for the floor but might prove detrimental to the hardwood floors in the rest of the house. Will post photos when the floor is done. Here is a photo from a WW2 South Pacific Island Bar I have taken inspiration from...
