Hey hey,
I'm starting to design a line of pendants for an upcoming pirate festival. This is a little large, perhaps, for a pendant and it's also quite round so it has issues laying flat. It's probably better as a decoration/figurine/ornament. But it was a first foray into possibilities!
A line drawing was created, and then a digital 3D model was created based on the drawing. The piece was printed in a 3D printer, and then hand painted. More info about the process is in this thread:

You're right, if it won't do as a pendant it will make a fine Christmas tree ornament
Can you print the next one with just the front half of the cylinder so it lays flat (and it'll weigh less too)?

Hey MadDog,
Yes, I'm definately going to do that - thanks! And I'll make the hole smaller too .. right now the whole is about 1cm (3/8 inch)in diameter.
