That's probably about right for these finacially crazy times considering their history/replacement value, and I agree that they were lucky to not lose them long ago. They should have been removed and stashed for safety after the hurricane, so it was to be expected. A real shame all around, but that's 1st world worries for ya.

It's been 20 years, at least someone is taking interest in the classic hotel, even if it's stealing. We stayed in Kapaa for our honeymoon back in October and it pained me to drive by the place everyday and see that nothing has been done.
