Jeff, man do I wish I could have been at the Hukilau, too. But I will be back in LA July 23rd, and grab the remaining summer parties where I can, and I vill be in Chicago.
The Japan Times article was written by a KBZ associate off course, the fact that Berlin is the epicenter of the German Tiki revival is a little idealistically put, there really ain't enough Tikiphiles around to revive what never really was. And I fear for the Berlin Trader Vic's, they built it too spacious, and the hotel is in a posh rebuilt neighbourhood that's like a dead downtown at night...
But everything they say about KBZ 200 is true! The Exotic Trilogy compilation CDs (see Hanford's Exotica website page) are hard to find, but well worth it. Maybe I should burn the 3 cassettes, which are different, on CD...
Well, I am happy to be able to write all this and not be bounced of AOL, that's the reason I have been a little quiet lately. Hope to see y'all in Chicago.
