Description:
I never heard of this place before until I found a Moai mug with the OSAKA name and address on it. There are few random posts about this place on Tiki Central and a Bug Eyed Moai mug on Ooga Mooga but not much info. I thought it was just a straight forward Japanese Restaurant but a couple weeks later a menu appeared on ebay. The menu seems to show a full on Tiki drink menu. Pretty cool!

interesting... not too far (4 blocks) from junkanoo... i wonder if they were contemporary rivals.

thanks for the info! adding it to my roster of dc tiki locations!

ADDENDUM: while looking up the tahitian hut in alexandria in the historic papers online, i found that that location and Osaka were contemporaries - this is from February 4, 1973:

No recollection of the place. Seems to have been Pan-Asian long before it was cool.
