Thanks for gettin it, n comin Kevin.
As for the Trivia question.
Jon Paul Balak is in High Tide,
He's also played with Tikiyaki, Surfer Joe, and Project Pimento at Tiki Oasis.
The Volcanics first Drummer was Benny Hammond, he also used to
Play with the Mai Kai gents, who used to play at Tiki Oasis.
Who said Surf n Tiki don't cross over?

Bong plays in a country band, Lucas Vigor plays in an Orchestra, and Squid plays jazz, so Tiki crosses over into Country, classical and jazz music, too.

Oops. Maybe the BTD eyes rolling emoticon would have been more appropriate to use.

In short: another great surf show at the Starting Gate. Thanks for putting the shows on Jeff - and thanks to the bands on the bill.
Val and I got there for the tail end of The Volcanics and then I had a flashback to my first Tiki Oasis weekend when Meshugga Beach party started to play their set. I kinda just sat in awe as The Sand Devils and Jason Lee and the R.I.P. Tides played. Not that I don't enjoy many of the different varieties of surf music that exist, but those 2 bands just sort of hit a sweet spot for me.
(Only had the iPhone camera with me yesterday)
And for an evening replay The Sand Devils record played on the way home and then the new Jason Lee vinyl hit the turntable as I hit a Zombie once we arrived home.
I don't have a Jason Lee mug but obviously that would have been the appropriate vessel.
It must have been a good show: my ears are still ringing and that hasn't happened in a long time.*
Thanks again to all involved!
kevin
