One thing that is really bothering me are the WHITE blinds. They are directly behind the bar; I need help. Do I spray paint them brown? Should I buy a more tropical set? Should I try making some basic ones from bamboo and/or reed? Help!!!
And... If anyone in the Bay Area has a jackhammer I could use for a day, I really want to get started on my tropical backyard, which includes a 8'x35' (possibly) sized pond/stream. I have some concrete in the way and I really don't want to swing a sledge. Thanks!

If you have a Habitat for Humanity Restore near you, try looking in there, Ive found great inexpensive bamboo and rattan mini blinds that are slightly used to brand new in the box for next to nothing! if that fails, you could try Lowes and Home Depot for a reasonable price. But, Id try the restore first. hope this helps out

home depot has several different bamboo shades and blinds.
My opinion, go with a darker color bamboo.... all your reeding on the bar and wall is very similar in color...the dark shade will give it a little pop....
one wall treatment in my hut closet is one of those home depot shades I used for years at my old house...

Places like Pier 1 and World Market have all kinds of bamboo/rattan mats, rugs, and blinds.

I've purchased rattan shades from Smith and Noble, and have been quite pleased. They have a wide selection of naturally woven shades.

I agree...World Market usually has shades for fairly cheap. Best of luck in your search.
