It's been more than three weeks since The Hukilau, but we're still sorting through the tons of great photos. If you've been following The Atomic Grog, you've seen our live coverage that includes lots of Facebook galleries and video from all five days of festivities. Here are a few tease images, with more to come soon ...

Thursday at Pier 66:

Kevin Beary brought a taste of Three Dots and a Dash in Chicago to the Tiki Tower Takeover.

Representing Slowly Shirley in New York City were Garret Richard and Ray Sak.

Friday at Pier 66:

In the Tiki Treasures Bazaar, The Hukilau's official artist, Tiki Tony, shows off his work.

Robert Jimenez of Miami is a longtime participating artist.

Artist Will Anders displayed many of his distinctive carvings.

The Rum Island Pool Party and High Tide Party featured many outstanding bars, including Flask & Cannon (Jacksonville) ...

... and the Sip 'n Dip Tiki Lounge (Great Falls, Mont.).

Stolen Idols from Tampa kicked off the High Tide Party with their traditional exotica sounds.

South Florida's Slip and the Spinouts shared the stage with some legends of burlesque.

The Mermers from Gainesville rocked the house with their sinister surf sound.

Direct from Canada, headliners The Surfrajettes brought an authentic surf sound and unique style.

Saturday at Pier 66:

The craft classes hosted by artists Tom Fowner (right) and Will Anders are always a favorite of The Hukilau's villagers.

In the Tiki Treasures Bazaar, Crazy Al brought his usual assortment of one-of-a-kind mugs.

Adam Koesler of Orgeat Works in New York City shows off his hand-crafted syrups, including the signature orgeat used at Beachbum Berry's Latitude 29.

Historian Mike Skinner presented an informative "Nautical Tiki" symposium.

Saturday night at The Mai-Kai:

Ian "Rum Ambassador" Burrell is ambushed by Marina the Fire Eating Mermaid.

Master of ceremonies King Kukulele meets the future of Tiki.

Crazy Al makes a special appearance with The Surfrajettes in The Molokai bar.

Sunday at The Mai-Kai:

The finale kicks off with the Demerara Cocktail and other lost classics, plus surf tunes from Skinny Jimmy Stingray.

Hurricane Hayward hits the stage with "The Menus of The Mai-Kai: 60 Years of Tiki Cocktail History."

You can find lots more photos, plus video clips of The Surfrajettes, The Hula Girls and other bands on The Atomic Grog:

I've been tardy posting the July events and news, but now is a very good time to do so since we have results of the Spirited Awards at Tales of the Cocktail.

The July event guide features not only a full recap of Tales, but news and previews of Tiki and surf music events all over the country - from Exotica 10 Years After in Chicago, to Tiki Night at The Egyptian Theater in Hollywood, to the Spirit of Tiki Cocktail Festival in London, to some lesser-known events ...

http://www.slammie.com/atomicgrog/blog/2017/07/01/the-tiki-times-july-2017-events-calendar-summer-heats-up-with-tales-of-the-cocktail/

The month closes next weekend with to SoCal events: Another Parking Lot Sale and Art Show at the Tonga Hut in Hollywood, themed to the Kon-Tiki Expedition. And the International Surf Classic in San Jose featuring Slacktone and The Kilaueas ...

But this week, all eyes have been on New Orleans for the 15th annual Tales of the Cocktail. We selected our favorite rum and Tiki events, then added photos and coverage from some of the lucky attendees ...

As usual, Tiki and rum were well-represented in the 11th annual Spirited Awards on July 22, considered to be the Oscars of cocktail awards shows. Among those making the final four in their respective categories were "Smuggler’s Cove: Exotic Cocktails, Rum and the Cult of Tiki" (Best New Cocktail & Bartending Book), Paul McGee of Lost Lake in Chicago (Best Bar Mentor), Ian Burrell (Best International Brand Ambassador), Trailer Happiness in London (Best International High Volume Cocktail Bar), and Plantation O.F.T.D. (Best New Spirit or Cocktail Ingredient).

And the winner is ...
