Baxdog,
Your post states to book and send money to Otto in SF; I already booked through the Caliente Tropics website.
Is it going to be like last year, when those that booked via Caliente got the boot and had to scramble and book with Otto.
What up?

Bong!
The $40 per person is for those that are not staying at The Tropics. Yeah, it's confusing, but it should read:
"Two tickets per Caliente Tropics room reservation will be given at check-in at the hotel. For those without Caliente Tropics reservations, or for those wanting to purchase additional tickets, can purchase them direct from Otto for $40 each..."
Is that any better or worse?
Anyway, if you've got a room booked, 2 tickets (armbands) are included with your room rate. If not, buy your ticket(s) for $40 each from Otto.
As far as booking a room and then getting bumped? I believe you'll be doing some bumping of your own if they try to pull that one on you. Your slack-key guitar that you play so well will be a "slap-you-up-side-the-head" guitar.
