Purely out of curiosity, who knows the most amount of money that has ever exchanged hands for a tiki mug?

don't know. but I'd guess there's some Neiman Marcus X-mas catalog diamond-encrusted, gold leaf Shag limited edition #1/001 mug. (plus the 15 artist proofs, of course)

Sewiously...
I'd say either the Kahiki Mystery Bowl or a Stephen Crane mug, perhaps the Ren Clark severed head. Each going for $300 - $500 plus!
But this might be the topper:

If you're talking about tiki mug or bowl, then it would probably be the Kahiki Mystery Bowl....my bank account can tell you all about it....
As for just a mug- the highest single mug price I've seen was when someone paid $670 (I think) for a Tiki Bob's mug from Cpt. Midnite....and it wasn't even the rare, Maori one either!

I will only say that my TEPCO kava bowl, owned by the TEPCO owner - John Pagliero - was 4 figures.
I wanted it and paid the price because I've seen the Trader Vic TEPCO kava bowl go for $800 plus, and that one wasn't a) the original from which all others were made, or b) owned by Mr. Pagliero. (and c) It's freaking cool!)

I was just going to mention that one, Al. I think that's the topper.
