Description:
A vintage tiki diner in the heart of Old Town Goleta. Originally opened in the late 1950's as a pizza parlor, Alphie's now serves only breakfast and lunch in an effort to remain competetive. While Alphie's is very unassuming from the main entrance, on the inside guests will see vintage tiki masks and carvings, in addition to carved war clubs, Maori decorative carving, and bamboo molding and tapa fabric along the walls. Much of the decor is original, but some slight remodelling has taken place sporadically since the 1980's. (Special thanks to Sabu the Coconut Boy for photographs)

My kids and I dig Alphies. It is the only tiki breakfast joint I know of. We like the food, and the killer Oceanic Arts decor. Get the Mexican Omelette, you will not be disappointed. I only wish that they served dinner and cocktails.
