We're on our way to San Diego for the holiday but will be spending Sunday & Monday nights in Hollywood. We'd like to meet up with any TC-ers on Monday night who want to come out. I'm not familiar with what cool places there are to meet at in the area, so any suggestions are appreciated.
We'll be on the road early Sunday morning so reach me on my cell if needed: 415-608-2632.
Hope to see a Centralite or two on our trip.
Al, it looks like we'll be passing through Oceanside area Tuesday afternoon. Will you be around then? We'd love to stop by.
We have family committments on "Bali Hai Friday" and cannot make it over there, sadly.
Mahalo!

I just chatted with the Pineapples as they happened to be at a rest stop at the Hanford-Lemoore junction on their journey down from the bay area.
They'd love to meet up with us Hoiti Toitis and will be at Beverly Hills Trader Vic's tomorrow, Monday night at 7pm.
So come on out and show them our SoCal hospitality, and enjoy a mai tai with friends! Let me know if you can make it, give me a call (562-706-3641) or leave a post here.

What a great evening, enjoying Trader Vic's cocktails, discussing world politics, all under the watchful eye of the T-Vics gazelle:

Mahalo nui loa to the Pineapples for giving me an excuse to see the Beverly Hills Trader Vic's! It's always a treat to see the Pineapples, but it was extra nice to get a chance to share a nice intimate dinner with them, plus Weird Unc & Trader Pup, in the TV bar. One of these days, I'll get my computer hooked up again so I can start sharing all of my pics!

I can say without a doubt that last week was the funnest roadtrip for us in years. We started with 2 nights at the Bel Age on Sunset, just to pamper ourselves a little and celebrate Mrs. Pineapple's new job (which she starts today!).
It had all the requisite Hollywood decadence: Drinking too much tequila at the Viper Room while watching The Godfather (it was movie night); a Z-list star-sighting - "Bob the Bachelor" stayed at our hotel. But truly the highlight was Monday night at Trader Vic's with some A-list Hoity-Toities. Actually, all TC-ers are A-listers...well, except for a couple
Big mahalos to Weird Unc, Pup and Humuhumu for greeting us weary travelers. Always a joy to see you folks. And Judd, I'll try not to tell any more icky stories that make you groan and cause you to make that face...

Weird uncle Tiki & Trader Pup mixing it up.
Mrs P., the mysterious Tiki Ibix, and Humuhumu.
The next day we were off to Oceanic Arts, a million pics of which have been posted here already, so I'll spare everyone. I photographed everything in sight, but only spent about $90. We'll be back!
We wanted terribly to stop in at Pup's SEIR, but didn't know how long it would take to get to Rancho Santa Fe (our turkey-day destination). Little did we know that diamond lanes would make the trip such a breeze. Next time, Pup, we promise!
We had a long-standing appointment to visit The Lagoon Room, which does not disappoint in any way! Thanks to Al & Shelly for their most generous hospitality and wonderful libations. We were very sad to miss Friday's activities on the Isle, but were deeply caught up in family duties. No trip to TJ on Friday, either

Our fabulous hosts.
Yours truly enjoying a refreshment.
Here's hoping everyone had a safe and fun Thanksgiving.
Aloha!
