I have a stand alone tiki bar just outside my patio. There is also a stand alone "thatched" bamboo cabana at the other end of our pool. A seating area, two serparate dining areas (7 grandchildren) with an 8' bar in the planning stage are located in the patio (17' x37"). The whole shebang is CeCe and my "Happy Talk Lounge". Pix will follow whenever I get almost done. Everybody knows these things are eternal works in progress. And yes, our inspiration for the name was the Happy Talk Lounge at The Bali Hai in Princeville.
Cheers

Here inland there aren't too many local spots to enjoy so I created "The Green Spider Lounge". It's actually comprised of a Lounge and Casino connected via my workshop to a Barroom. I will post pics as soon as I get done painting. Ben will throw rocks at me if he gets a gander at my (currently) white walls.

"The Boom Boom Room", it just kinda stuck. It may not be that tiki, but it souinds "exotic" enough, and has some history. But now that the Standard in NY uses the name, I may need to re-name it.

The Boom Boom Room was a famous & well known Gay Bar in Laguna Beach, Calif.

Just found that out. After I posted here I googled it. That works.
Guess it's in high demand, blues clubs, lounges, but my favorite...it's the name of a play about a bi-sexual go-go dancer set in the 60's!
Guess I should research the next name if I change it.

It is also the name of a strip club here in the Portland metro area.

And the saga continues, I just found out that it's the name of the club in the Fontainebleu on "Surfside Six"! Surprised nobody mentioned that
Now, was it a real club, or only in the TV show? Forget that, in looking around it seems that it was an actual club in the hotel.
Which also led me to find out that it's the name of the in-home bars for Rob Zombie, Mariah Carey and Fieldy (whoever that is). Thanks MTV "Cribs".

I am slowly and selectively building out The Room of Great Adventure! I don't call it a tiki room, because that's a little limiting; I'm picking up what I consider interesting artifacts in my travels, and finding places to put them. The room itself is entirely (walls and ceiling) a sort of deep orange clay, with all black trim. The closet doors are removed, and in closet are black shelves filled with all different kinds of baskets. I have a Tommy Bahama desk and etagere, which holds all my prized tiki mugs.
Recently I picked up something I've coveted for quite a while; an actual boat made into a bookshelf. This beauty is possibly Indonesian, and it's all teak, and all beat up (oh yeah). If I got this picture loading thing right, you can see it here.
Suggestions and comments truly welcome.
