Tang, as I recall, there was a large model/diarama of a city, at the end of the general electric house of the future (american sings, now innoventions)..you went up an escalator, and there it was, on the right hand side...the coolest model H0 scale I have ever seen...any idea what ever happened to it?
Do you have any photos?

It was called Progress City. The remants of the model can be viewed from the PeopleMover (Walt Disney World) during the last inside jaunt before you head back to the station (Inside the 360 degree theater building).
They hacked it up pretty good, but it's still really cool to see. You have to ride the ride a few times to really take it in, because they speed up the PM through there.
There's a picture at Yesterland. http://www.yesterland.com/progress.html

Viewing the model from the PeopleMover (or Tomorowland Transit Authority if you're up to date) you don't really get a sense of the size of small chunk of the model that made it to Florida. Even though it's only a small part of it, it's huge!
I once got the opportunity to take a self-guided backstage tour of the area and found myself on a catwalk above it -- not only is it long, but surprisingly deep too.
One of the great overlooked details is a projection of a jet plane on the back wall of the diorama -- the flight that they talked about in the last act of the Disneyland version where grandma and grandpa go off on vacation.

Looks like I'm late on this one! Sorry I'm so late to respond - at home today!
I have some good pix of the Progress City model - also - you may want to check out the "E" Ticket Issue 22 we did on the Carrousel Of Progress - some good pix in there too...
Unfortunately - it's out of print - but occasionally you find it on Ebay...
There is also the 4-disc bootleg 1964 World's Fair Cd set, which has most of the music from the original General Electric pavilion as well...!
Happy hunting!

PS, there's a great retro-futurism club on Yahoo called Progress City that I used to post a lot to. You can find it here:
