USAV John Page tiki mick Tiki Socialite Joined: Aug 11, 2003 Posts: 398 From: Socal Posted: 2004-04-02 10:54 am   Permalink I served on this boat for two years, out of Hawaii...while looking at old posts related to Johnston Island, I realized that there might be some other vets here at TC.... Anyway, we were called "page rats" and our boat was a United States Army Beach Discharge lighter..in other words, a large amphibious supply landing craft (400 ft long) Anybody ever heard of this craft? I know they decommisioned it several years after I left (I left in 1986) and probably sold it to the argentinian Navy!
