Yet I still get carded all the time, and have to sit through "I would have NEVER guessed you were that old!" Don't know who feels older, me, or my Mom knowing her "kid" is 30.

You're complaining that you don't look older?! What are you still in High School or something???
J/K -- hey, consider that a blessing. It's all downhill from here. The only "significant" birthdays for you now are 40, 50 and 65 (so can start collecting Social Security - which of course will be gone by the time you're at the age to collect it)...
Happy Birthday.

another great thing you can do once you get into yer 30s is start to complain about kids in their 20's

I have to agree with Johnny. The actual day 30th hits is really bad, but after that it starts getting better again. You can laugh at teenagers, reminisce about how good music used to be etc etc

Well, nothing you can do about the passing years. Just keep living and enjoy the ride.
Sort of reminds me of a Zen quote "life is a bridge, don't build a house on it"

Wait until you're 39, then you'll realise that your thirties were pretty damm good

Makes me think of that Martin Mull song, something like..
"I woke up in the afternoon;
Looked out and noticed both cars were gone.
Yeah, I woke up in the afternoon;
Looked out and noticed both cars were gone!
I was so mad and disgusted;
I threw my drink across the lawn!"

Happy birthday, badmojo
I have a friend who turns thirty today too...
So far, I've enjoyed my thirties - it's like embarking on a new voyage of discoveries! We've experienced a lot up until now, but there's still sooooo much more to do and learn!
I've always looked younger than I really am too, and I take it as a compliment when I get carded. I know I'll be grateful for looking younger as I age...but when you are truly are 18 or 21 and look as though you're 14...that's another story.
The way I look at things is age is relative - mentally, you are as old as you want to be...until your body starts telling you otherwise!
Have a great day!

Badmojo!
Happy birthday! I know exactly how you feel. I just turned 34 on Sunday, thankfully I still do get carded, todays music sucks, college students are kids, things really were better in the old days, and I have generally just turned into a grumpy old man..... and I LOVE IT!!!
One of my favorite movie quotes....
